This is the fourth consecutive season in which Asseco Arka has qualified for the Suzuki Puchar Polski. In the quarterfinals we will be put against Enea Zastal BC Zielona Gora.

Not in Warsaw but in Lublin will be the Suzuki Puchar Polski held, combining seven best EBL teams and the hosts of the event. We managed to include ourselves in the party, but will be taking on the current Polish champion right from the start - Enea Zastal. We are the definite underdog in this scenario. Our rivals are at the top of the table with their 23-2 win-loss balance. Most see them as the definite shoe-in for the victors of this season.

The Croatian coac Zan Tabak has created a very well rounded, perfect team with the Danish Gabriel "Iffe" Lundberg (16.9 points, 6.4 assists, 1.8 steals) and US Geoffrey Groselle (16.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.3 steals) at the helm. It seems that they are competing for the MVP award of the regular season. The Latvian forward duo is not slowing down as well in the form of Rolands Freimanis (12.8 pts, 4.3 rbdns) and Janis Berzins (12.3 pts, 6.1 rbds, 42% in 3 pointers). A great decision was drawing in Romanian Kris Richard (9.5 pts, 3.8 asts, 1.8 steals). Fans still remember his great defense and an awesome three pointer which allowed his team to defeat CSKA Moscow in the united VTB league. Zastal has 7 foreigners in their team, which forces at least one in each match to remain as a spectator. So far Tabak has rotated Cecil Williams (9.2 points, 3.4 rebounds) and Blake Reynolds (10.4 points, 4.7 rebounds) The only problem is the number of Polish players, with those being only Lukasz Koszare (6.1 points, 3.6 assists) and Filip Put (5.5 points, 2.6 rebounds), ex Asseco Arka players. Daniel Szymkiewicz and Marcel Ponitka were valuable assets as well, but the first is suffering from a knee injury and the second has moved to the Russian Parma Perm.

Zastal is not only ahead in the table, but also in total points gained, 2- and 3- point throws, steals and assists. We couldn't have asked for a more difficult opponent. The match will take place this Thursday (11th of February) at 18:00. Be with us!
